High performance teams should have goals based on high performance. Setting and achieving recruiting goals is a tricky area for most leaders I consult. They tend to set goals more toward those who are in the average performance. As an example, let’s say you have a sales group and your two top performers produce an average of $1,000 per day. Your average team member does half that at $500. If you set the goals at %500, you’re cutting your ability to achieve in half.
One thing most leaders do not understand is that everyone wants to achieve at some level, especially recruiters. We’re naturally competitive so if when you set the goals, set them based on your high performers. Then it is up to you to coach and mentor the rest of the team to achieve that number.
